The first annual Lake Arthur Mardi Gras Run attracted a nice crowd riding on
horseback and in trailers. During a stop about 10:15 a.m., Mardi Gras in traditional
costumes danced under a large grove of oaks, and then children chased a guinea. That's
Capitaine Bennett Scott in the colorful yellow, green, and red costume below. Tina Pilione
on fiddle and Jesse Legé on accordion with the Lake Charles Ramblers are shown on the
music wagon. The morning weather was windy with clouds, building up to showers in the
afternoon. |
